MILTON, Del.- Delaware State Police say troopers arrested a Milton woman after she was found to be driving under the influence for the fifth time.

Police said it happened shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, when troopers were dispatched to the area of Hudson and Cave Neck roads in Milton for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, troopers canvassed the area and observed two vehicles stopped on Hudson Road facing southbound.

A blue Honda Civic and an SUV were located. Troopers said that upon contact, Kimberly A. Kashner, the driver of the Honda Civic appeared to be intoxicated and showed multiple signs of impairment. Police said that while speaking with the driver an odor of alcoholic beverage was immediately detected coming from her breath. A DUI investigation was initiated and a computer inquiry revealed four previous DUI convictions.

Kashner, 53 of Milton, was taken into custody and transported to Troop 7 in Lewes. She was charged with her 5th Offense DUI (felony) as well as inattentive driving. She was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,000 secured bond.
