REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Police say a Georgetown man was charged with his fifth DUI Saturday afternoon at a restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.

Police say they were called to the restaurant, located at 18585 Coastal Highway, for a welfare check shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday.

Officers say Christopher L. Goff, 52 of Georgetown, drove to restaurant and ordered food before sitting down, nodding off in and out of consciousness.

Responding officers say Goff was slumped over and could smell a strong odor of alcohol from his breath.

After several attempts to check his welfare, police say Goff woke up and appeared to be intoxicated, showing multiple signs of impairment.

Troopers say Goff had four previous DUI convictions. He was arrested on his 5th offense DUI (felony) and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000 secured bond.
