REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delmarva's beach towns are taking a beating as a coastal storm continues to move offshore.

Heavy surf continued to pound the shore in Rehoboth Beach Monday morning. Erosion was also visible in some places, with sand cliffs forming as sand is pulled away by the water.

Beach replenishment in Rehoboth Beach was just completed last week.

"I have no idea if they're going to replenish it again or they're -- what's going to happen when the next storm comes," said Denise Rhone from Millsboro.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control expects most of the sand to return within the next week or two, depending on the weather.

DNREC said calmer conditions and gentler waves always move sand back onto the beach.

DNREC also said impacts from the storm have been minor to moderate in places. The department said there's been beach erosion that you would expect to see during a storm like this, but little impact to the dunes except in areas that were already experiencing impacts.
