LEWES, De-

People in Lewes have a new place to get together! Today the Lewes Senior Activity Center re-opened with new changes.

The 50-and-older population is growing every year on Delmarva. With a lot of people moving and retiring here, the senior center is needed to bring people together.

"It's a place to come, it's friends. I feel very blessed to have so many friends that I can meet with. And great food," says member Shirley Millman.

The new facility not only has more space, but a new gym donated by Beebe Healthcare, an outdoor patio, and a renovated craft room.

"You walk in and you can feel like you're home. It's warm, it's inviting, and the amenities now let you wander from office to office," said Lynn J. Rogers, whose company, Rogers Sign Company, donated the center's sign.

The new building now offers more fun activities and trips. Some can even take you out of the country.

"We have an enormous variety of trips to go on all the time. We have a group that just got back from Iceland. So we have those exotic kinds of trips but we also go to Dover Downs, or casinos, or things like that," said President of the board, Andy Zampini.

The center now has 1,5

00 members. New members are always accepted for only 24-dollars a year.
