Centreville Man Arrested for Sex Crimes Against Child

CENTREVILLE, Md.- Maryland State Police have arrested a 32-year-old Centreville man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child. 

Timothy Smith is charged with second-degree rape, third- and fourth-degree sex offenses, sexual abuse of a minor, production of child pornography and various related charges.

Troopers said the investigation stemmed from the disclosure of a child under the age of 13 that Smith had sexually assaulted him on numerous occasions.

Police said that on Monday, Nov. 25, a search warrant was conducted on Smith's home his home. Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, he was ordered held without bail pending trial.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
