SALISBURY, Md.- Construction continues at one popular intersection in Salisbury that will soon become a 120-foot roundabout.

It's happening near Riverside Drive, Carroll Street, Mill Street, and Camden Avenue.

The roundabout aims to alleviate existing traffic problems, as a recent study revealed it found problems with the intersection, such as traffic backups to Route 50 and unsafe patterns on the bridge.

But some drivers, like Marvin Tossey says the construction is growing inconvenient for some in the meantime.

"There are backups every morning," he said.

But Tossey says he supports this construction if it means better roadways long-term.

"Construction is needed and it's a irritant of course when you're trying to get somewhere fast, but if you are going to have good public highways and so forth you got to be inconvenienced, it's apart of life," he said.

Other drivers like Hickory Hall says she sees delays in the morning and after work.

"Progress causes hassles but we need it."

When it is finished, the roundabout will be 120 feet, and work will be conducted over a six month period.

A $1.4 million contract was awarded to a Dover-based contractor for the project.
