SMYRNA, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Police in Smyrna say they're still following up on tips they've received about the remains of a young girl that were found near some softball fields.

Smyrna Police Department spokesman Cpl. Brian Donner recently said that identifying the girl remains the department's top priority.

Police found the girl's remains in September near the Little Lass softball fields. In November, police released facial reconstruction images of what the girl may have looked like when she was alive.

Police said she was dead for several weeks, if not longer, when she was found.

The girl was between the ages of 2 and 5. She also had slightly wavy brown hair and was Caucasian or Hispanic. She may have suffered from a chronic disease.

Smyrna police are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Delaware Division of Forensic Science.

Tips can be submitted to Smyrna police Detective Bill Davis by calling 302-653-3490, the Smyrna Police Department on Facebook or on Twitter @SmyrnaPD. Tips can also be called in to Crime Stoppers: 1-800-TIP-3333 or the NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST.
