DSP Investigating Armed Robbery Outside Millsboro Home

MILLSBORO, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at a Millsboro home late Monday evening.

Troopers were dispatched to a home in the 31000 block of Karen Street shortly before 10 p.m. for a report of a robbery.

When they arrived, troopers met with a 59-year-old man who told them that while he was outside in the front yard, he was approached by an unknown man. 

The suspect displayed a handgun and struck the victim with the handgun, causing the victim to fall to the ground, according to the victim. 

The suspect demanded the victim empty his pockets, taking the victim’s wallet, cellphone and keys prior to fleeing the scene. 

Shortly later, the victim’s bank card was used at the Exxon in Seaford. 

The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as black, in his late 20’s, approximately 5-foot-8, 175 pounds, with a full beard, and wearing all dark clothing.

    A boys basketball game between Cape Henlopen and Sussex Tech high schools devolved into a three-on-three contest after a bench-clearing brawl, and only three of those players were left on the court at the buzzer.

    Thursday night's game ended with only one player on the court for Cape Henlopen and two for Sussex Tech. Sussex Tech won the game 63-62.
