Man Arrested After Nearly 1,500 Bags of Heroin Seized in Dover Drug Bust

DOVER, Del.- Authorities say a 39-year-old man is facing multiple drug-related charges after a raid on a Dover home led to the seizure of nearly 1,500 bags of heroin. 

Dover police said that shortly after 12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, officers executed a search on a home on South Kirkwood Street as a result of an investigation into heroin sales.

Police said that during the search, officers located 1,494 bags of heroin, 30 doses of oxycodone, five doses of amphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

As a result of the search, officers arrested Andre Blake, of Dover, who was charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. 

He was ordered held on $102,500 secured bond.

    A boys basketball game between Cape Henlopen and Sussex Tech high schools devolved into a three-on-three contest after a bench-clearing brawl, and only three of those players were left on the court at the buzzer.

    Thursday night's game ended with only one player on the court for Cape Henlopen and two for Sussex Tech. Sussex Tech won the game 63-62.
