Buzz Off! Cancer 3-D Donates to Tunnell Cancer Center

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Buzz Off! Cancer 3-D was held at the Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes on Dec. 1. On Thursday, event organizers presented a check for $4,425 to the Tunnell Cancer Center.

The third annual event was held as a chance to extend the "No Shave November" movement. Participants had the opportunity to buzz off their hair for another cause.

Morgan Shank spearheaded the event three years ago.  Orion Cameron, who owns Grandpa Mac, joined the cause this year.  Shank buzzed off his beard of three years.  Cameron buzzed off his dreadlocks of 15 years. The duo presented the check to Tunnell Cancer Center on Thursday afternoon.

"It went to the Beebe Medical Foundation and their cancer special needs fund," says Shank.

He says the event raised more than $1,000 for men's health.

"Unfortunately, this year my aunt passed away from cancer and she was very close to us," says Cameron. "We all wanted to do something big this year and I thought what bigger thing can I do other than cutting all my hair off."

Shank says the event raised around $2,000 last year and that he reached his goal of doubling that this year. He says Buzz Off! 4 could possibly be for hunger.
