Man Shot to Death in Onancock

ONANCOCK, Va.- The Accomack County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early Friday morning shooting that left a man dead in Onancock.

Sheriff Todd Godwin said that shortly before 2 a.m., his office received a report of shots fired at a home on Jacob Street in Onancock.

When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered a man  lying on the living room floor suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim later died from his injuries. The body has been transported to the medical examiner’s office in Norfolk.

Godwin has not yet released the name of the victim and said the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
