Bob,

You are a true icon, leader and professional in your field. I know you'll still be watching the weather from your home and probally still forcasting it better than the weather channel has. I always tell my son that "a man is always judged by his word and his work". You nailed both of them!!!!! Good Luck

Bob, what's a young whipper snapper like you retiring for?  Actually I just turned 53 and took early retirement myself.  Thanks for your quick response on an e-mail I sent you a couple of years ago about the typical winter weather in the Millsboro area.  Good luck, good fishing, and keep an eye to the sky.

Dear Bob,

Thank you for delivering your accurate, no-nonsense weather reports on WBOC for the past thirteen years.  I have lived here since 1997 and your weather reports have been a very important part of my daily planning, especially when hurricanes, severe thunderstorms or potentially hazardous driving conditions were forecast.

I wish you contentment and happiness in your retirement years which are richly deserved.
I will miss you and so will the majority of residents on Delmarva who are all fans of yours.  Good luck!

Whenever we had something planned, one of our main "checks" was always - "Let's see what BBK has to say about the weather."  Now what are we going to do?  Good luck, Bob.

Bob,

I am so glad I got the chance to work with you.  You have taught me a lot in my time here!  I will miss your forecasting tips and your great sense of humor but most of all your devotion to this station and more importantly our weather team.

I have always been able to count on you for anything!  I am very sad to see you go and will miss you very much as I am sure all of Delmarva will, but at the same time I am happy you will be able to spend more time with you family.

I wish you a wonderful retirement.  You will be missed and will always be remembered!

Fondly,

Danielle Vollmar

Bob -

I was sorry to hear on the evening news of 3/26/08 that you are planning to retire from WBOC in June 2008. You have been very professional in your approach to providing the weather reports for Delmarva.

We will miss you, but you have lots to look forward to. I have been retired for 6 years and don't regret the day I called it quits. There is something you, if you listen closely enough, that will tell you when it is time for retirement. Best of luck! You will be missed.

BBK is a familiar word in the Lipka household. We not only enjoy having you join us in our home via the weekend news and when you sub for Brian or Dennis but we rely on your forcasts. You are such a household name that my 3 year old nephew knows you by name... maybe not as Bob

Burnett- Kurie but as BBK the weather man! Thanks for your service to Delmarva! You will be greatly missed. Enjoy your retirement.

Pam Lipka

Bob you have been a great Meterorologist for our wonderful Delmarva area.  We really enjoyed your many contributions to us.

I learned some things from your segment "Weather Why's".  But now its time for you to move on and enjoy your time with family and friends.  You will be greatly missed in our home here in Salisbury MD.   All the Best!!!

Just want to say best wishes to Bob. I  really enjoyed watching you through the years. Good luck in the future and enjoy life while you can. Thanks again
