CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP)- The field of three candidates for mayor in Cambridge has been pared to two.

Incumbent Cleveland Rippons and challenger Victoria Jackson-Stanley were the top finishers in Tuesday's three-way primary race and will go head-to-head in the municipal election July 8.

Rippons received 696 votes and Stanley had 674. Octavene Saunders finished with 128 votes.

Election supervisor Claude Gootee says about 23 percent of the city's registered voters cast ballots. Voters also chose candidates for four contested city council seats.
