Lacee Griffith joined WBOC News in January of 2009 where she worked as a videojournalist before being named co-anchor of the "WBOC News This Morning" team in May 2011.
She graduated cum laude from Point Park University in Pittsburgh where she received her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. At Point Park she worked on student-run programs called On the Point, which aired on WBGN, and was also part of Point News Now. Her most memorable story was her coverage of Chelsea Clinton's visit to Pittsburgh where she reported live for almost three hours. She also had the opportunity to intern at two Pittsburgh television news stations, KDKA and WPXI. She says her experience was invaluable!
Her first two years at WBOC, you may remember seeing Lacee mostly bundled up from head-to-toe covering blizzard to hurricane to storm. She says there are many days she misses being out in the field reporting, but not so much when there is severe weather.
Lacee moved to the Eastern Shore from her home in Pittsburgh, where she was born and raised. Even though she's in Ravens country now, she's still a diehard Steelers fan and tries to go to a game whenever she's back in da' Burgh! In her free time she enjoys pole fitness, cooking and baking, and visiting the local beaches. While her family and friends can't watch WBOC on TV in Pittsburgh, she feels spoiled that many of them watch live online on wboc.com every morning!
