ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Former Prince George's County Council chairwoman Ingrid Turner is announcing her bid for Congress.
Turner has scheduled a Tuesday announcement in Largo to run for Maryland's 4th Congressional District, which includes parts of Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties.
Del. Joseline Pena-Melnyk also is announcing her campaign to succeed Rep. Donna Edwards, who is running for Senate.
The field for the Democratic primary already is getting crowded more than a year ahead of the April 2016 primary.
Former Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown is running for Edwards' seat. Former Prince George's County State's Attorney Glenn Ivey also is running.
The announcement earlier this month that Sen. Barbara Mikulski will not seek re-election has sparked early interest in at least two House seats that will open as incumbents run for Senate.
