REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Two fugitives from Sussex County have been arrested following a traffic stop in Rehoboth Beach.
According to Rehoboth Beach police, at around 8:30 a.m. Saturday 8:30 a.m. an officer pulled over a car in the 500 block of Rehoboth Avenue after a registration check showed the car's registered owner, 39-year-old Bruce Coverdale-Ricketts of Seaford, had an active traffic warrant.
Police said 24-year-old Walter Martz of Lewes, who was driving, had three active warrants in Delaware and one active warrant out of Lancaster County, Pa., for failing to appear in court for a DUI charge. Police said Martz was also driving without a valid driver's license.
According to police, Coverdale-Ricketts who was a passenger in his own car, was found in possession of multiple hypodermic needles. A search of the car also turned up a bag containing 14 grams of marijuana, police said.
Martz was arraigned on the outstanding warrants and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $500 secured bail, police said. Coverdale-Ricketts was arraigned and released on $2,000 unsecured bail.
