Sherron Mills Funeral Arrangements Announced

Salisbury, Md.- Funeral arrangements for local basketball legend Sherron Mills have been announced.

Mills, 44 years old, passed away Sunday because of complications with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The funeral will be Saturday January 23 at the First Baptist Church in Salisbury. A viewing is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 12 p.m. Mills will be buried at the Mt. Wesley Cemetery in Snow Hill.

Mills played basketball at Snow Hill High School from 1985 to 1989, leading his team to the 1989 Maryland basketball championship. He holds the record for most points in a state championship. He scored 47 to help Snow Hill win the title. He was coached at Snow Hill by the late Allen Miller, who died of a heart attack in 2010. After playing collegiately at Virginia Commonwealth University, he was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves.  He also played professionally overseas for several years.

Mills is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
