Valentines Day is around the corner. While stores and businesses are decorating, not everyone is celebrating.

A new study from Offers.com showed that only one-third of Americans are expected to spend money on Valentines Day this year. But those that are spending money, are contributing a lot to the multi-billion dollar industry.

Regardless, love is in the air on Delmarva. Stores and streets are already decorated with red and pink.

"Valentines day is a really fun time even if you don't have a significant other. It's fun to dress up and share in the experience," said Shelby Williams, assistant manager of ish Boutique.

Some people prepare ahead of time.

"I already know what I'm getting. I haven't purchased it yet but I definitely know what I'm getting," said Jennifer Keenan from Dayton, OH.

Others, wait too long and end up depending on expedited shipping. According to the study, Amazon is the top retailer for Valentines Day despite local shops being fully stocked with Valentines gifts and apparel.

Offers.com also says men will spend an average of 23-dollars more than women will. Even though some people say it's not about the money, but the thought that counts.

"I think it's about the effort put into it not necessarily about the money. I would much rather have a handmade card or a card in general and not something elaborate," said Williams.

ProFlowers says it sees a big increase in sales around Valentines Day. 68-percent of flower deliveries will be sent to homes, while a quarter of deliveries will surprise people at work.

Do don't stress. Even if you haven't been hit with Cupids bow, you can still spread the love.

"I'll get my mom Valentines gifts as well. She doesn't have a significant other so I'll bring her the balloons and roses as well. I just think it should be celebrated," said Keenan.

On Valentine's Day, and every day.
