Troopers Arrest Felton Man for Robbery, Two Suspects Still at Large

MAGNOLIA, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 33-year-old man in connection to a Tuesday night robbery of a Magnolia convenience store.

Just after 9:30 p.m., troopers say three suspects, with concealed faces, approached an employee at Ernie's Country Store on Peachtree Road. They demanded cash. Police said the suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and tobacco products.

The employee was not injured.

Troopers said in the investigation that followed, 33-year-old Robert Rainey of Felton was developed as a suspect. Rainey was taken into custody without incident at a home in the 100 block of Highland Court in Felton. A subsequent search of Rainey and the home produced evidence further linking him to the robbery, according to police.

The identities of the two at-large suspects, who were only described as black males, is still unknown.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective P. Campbell of Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit by calling 302-698-8504. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or via the internet at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
