HARBESON, Del.- Authorities say two people are facing drug and related charges after a raid on a Harbeson home led to the discovery of a large amount of drugs, including cocaine and crack cocaine.
Delaware State Police said that on Thursday, Jan. 9, members of the Sussex Drug Unit and the Governor’s Task Force concluded a six-month drug investigation involving the distribution of illegal drugs occurring at a home in the 28000 block of Woodcrest Drive in Harbeson.
During the execution of a search warrant, police made contact with 40-year-old Tomaris White, of Georgetown, and the primary occupant of the home, 67-year-old Gladys Sampson, of Harbeson. White was observed running toward the bathroom attempting to dispose of crack cocaine, according to police. White and Sampson were then taken into custody.
Troopers said that during the search of the home, the following items were located:
- Approximately 14.46 grams of crack cocaine
- Approximately 41.21 grams of powder cocaine
- Approximately 6.12 grams of marijuana
- Two boxes of 12 gauge slugs
- a .380 round of ammunition
- Drug paraphernalia-to include items utilized to manufacture drugs
- More than $2,000 in suspected drug proceeds
Police said Sampson is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing ammunition. White and Sampson were transported back to Troop 4 where they were charged with the following:
Tomaris White:
- Operating a clandestine laboratory
- Possession of controlled substance Tier 3 quantity
- Second-degree conspiracy
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
White was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $17,250 secured bond.
Gladys Sampson:
- Operating a clandestine laboratory
- Possession of controlled substance Tier 3 quantity
- Second-degree conspiracy
- Maintaining a drug property
- Possession of ammunition by person prohibited
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Sampson was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $19,850 unsecured bond.
