DSP Closes Scene, Continues Investigation into Laurel Homicide

LAUREL, Del.- Delaware State Police were back on the scene Thursday of a homicide they're investigating.

Detectives closed two intersections Thursday: Shell Bridge Road and Phillips Landing Road as well as Mt. Pleasant Road and Old Sharptown Road. 

DSP was back on the scene, investigating a case it has already deemed a homicide. The investigation started Saturday, March 9, when police responded to reports that a body that was found on the side of the roadway. 

The woman's body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death. Police said they don't know the woman's identity, and other details about this case are still unclear at this time.

The intersections were closed for about four hours while police conducted their followup investigation.
