Milford Man Arrested for 4th DUI

MILFORD, Del. - A Milford man was arrested for driving under the influence for a fourth time after he used someone's vehicle without permission.

On June 27, at 10:47 p.m., an officer from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a parking lot in the 600 block of North DuPont Blvd. to a report of an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

An investigation revealed John M. Gleysteen (23) and the victim got into an argument. During the that time, Gleysteen reportedly pushed the victim away from the vehicle and proceeded to drive the vehicle to North DuPont Blvd. and travel north in the area of McCoy St. and Marshall St.

Gleysteen was contacted and taken into custody without incident.

Further investigation, that included field sobriety tests, led to a warrant being obtained for Gleysteen.

Gleysteen was charged with 4th offense driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving while suspended or revoked, and offensive touching.

Gleysteen was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $6000 secured. Gleysteen has been committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution. Gleysteen is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on July 13 for a preliminary hearing.
