REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Authorities have ruled as arson an early Wednesday fire that heavily damaged the former Aqua Leisure Plus building in the 35000 block of Wolf Neck Road in Rehoboth Beach.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze was reported at around 12:30 a.m. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene and found smoke and flames coming from the structure. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene.
State fire investigators were called to the scene and performed an investigation to determine the fire’s origin and cause. This investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally started. The investigation is active and ongoing at this time. Fire damage is estimated at $200,000. There were no reported occupants or injuries.
