The wind shift is starting to occur overnight as this boundary parks itself right over the top of Delmarva. This will start to shift the wind out of the northeast and east and will bring much cooler air in off the Atlantic. Due to this wind shift, the temperature spread across Delmarva will be crazy for this Thursday with highs in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. We will see low clouds and fog start out toward the beach and should overspread the area into the late afternoon and evening hours. This push of cooler air off the ocean will help to keep things stable on Thursday and keep most active weather that could develop to our north and west into Thursday evening and Thursday night. This same cooler and stable air will allow for some fog to settle into the area for tonight and early on Friday.
After the fog lifts on Friday, it turns into a sunny and warmer day with highs back into the 70s and 80s. We may still get trapped in the 50s and 60s at the beach with the wind turning out of the south and southwest.
Temperatures soar back up into the 80s for highs for Saturday and Sunday. The wind will pick up again on Saturday and especially on Sunday as a stronger cold front arrives with scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday evening and Sunday night. A bigger threat for severe weather could be in the cards for us on Sunday night with the blast of colder air that comes in behind the front heading into next week.
The cooler air for next week will remind us that it is April on Delmarva with highs in the 50s for Monday - Wednesday and we will watch a little wave of energy on Tuesday coming across the Great Lakes…this could bring us some extra clouds and even a couple stray showers.
