The Avalon Theatre was built in 1922 and was immediately known as the “showplace of the Eastern Shore.” Renovations took place in the mid-eighties and the town turned the theatre operation over to the Avalon Foundation and from there, the theatre became the Center for Performing Arts and Community Events. You can still expect an experience you won’t forget! Avalon Theatre’s Marketing Director, Tim Weigand, joins us in the studio to talk about the foundation’s mission and upcoming shows.

We’re always talking about advancements in healthcare and new technology has really made procedures less invasive and less painful. New technology has led to precision when it comes to procedures like dental implants. Lisa recently stopped by Delmarva Dental Services to talk with Dr. Harmon who performs these procedures, and Melvin Jenkins, who recently had the procedure done.

DIY projects have really taken off the past couple of years. What about DIY construction work? You know you can do the project, but maybe you do not have the tools you need to get started. Sydney Whitfield paid a visit to Sunbelt Rentals in Dover where she found a solution.

During this time of year, many people are visiting haunted houses in the area. We sent Sydney Whitfield to preview the Cemetery House in Laurel, Del. put on my Charity Lodge Number 27, International Order of Odd Fellows. Sydney learns that the Cemetery House is more than a haunted attraction in town. There are many volunteers who work hard to put everything together before the season starts and they help keep things running smoothly each weekend in October. Also, a good portion of the money raised goes back to the community. The Cemetery House is open Oct. 20, 21, 27, and 28 with tickets being sold from 7 pm- 11 pm. Parking is at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department where you will begin your night on a haunted hay ride. Admission is $10 or $9 with the donation of a canned good.
