Milton Theatre Reopens with Record Sales and New Performances

MILTON, Del.- Live music and shows are back in Milton. Just last Friday the Milton Theatre got the go ahead to reopen its doors with even more COVID-19 safety protocols, and more performances.

The Milton Theatre says when it announced its reopening, there were record breaking sales. A sign of support, or perhaps proof that as performers say, art is essential.

The pandemic hit artists especially hard. But performers and people with the theater are just happy be open again, even with restrictions.

"Everything is VIP seating so there is ample space for everyone to spread out. Still the same for hour box office, socially distanced queuing," said J.P. Lacap with Milton Theatre.

Inside, you don't have to wait in long lines to get food or drinks. Now you can order your meal online and head back to your seat, and they will message you when your food is ready to be picked up.

The theater is able to open at 30 percent capacity. Even though Broadway performer Grace Field is used to sold out shows, she says 30 percent...

"Sounds glorious right now! Honestly like anybody who comes will have a great time. Even just having one other person makes a difference for me," said Grace Fields who is performing at the theater opening weekend.

Field donates a percentage, or all of the proceeds from each show to a local charity. This weekend with her "Music of Judy Garland" show, she is benefiting Pathways to Success.

"That's why music was created..to connect with other people," said Field.

Online concerts or in person shows, Field says music and art are as important as ever. Buy tickets to Fields show, and view all other performances at Milton Theatre here.
