Maryland Casino Brings in $76 Million in July

 BALTIMORE, Md. - Maryland's casinos brought in nearly $76 million in July. The state's four casinos include Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County, Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Maryland Live Casino in Anne Arundel County, and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

Worcester County's Casino at Ocean Downs brought in the third most money, generating more than $6 million in July. Officials say the casino brought in about $241 per day. The casino's July revenue increased by 4.6% from July of 2013. The Casino at Ocean Downs, which is located in Berlin, Md., operated 800 slot machines.

Maryland Live Casino, in Hanover, Md., brought in the most money out of the state's casinos, generating roughly $58.2 million in July. Casino officials say that's from both slot machines and table games. They say the casino brought in roughly $280 from slot machines, more than $4 thousand dollars for banking table games, and more than $1 thousand dollars for non-banking games. The casino's July revenue increased by 11% from July of 2013. Maryland Live Casino operates more than 4,000 slot machines and 189 table games.

Hollywood Casino Perryville generated roughly $7.5 million from both slot machines and table games in July according to casino officials. The casino has fewer machines and table games than Maryland Live Casino. Casino officials say the casino brought in roughly $178 a day from slot machines, more than $2 thousand for banking table games and roughly $430 for non-banking tables games. The casino's July revenue decreased by 0.1% from July of 2013. Hollywood Casino Perryville, located in Perryville, Md., has over 1,000 slot machines and 22 table games.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Cumberland, Md. generated the least amount of money in the state. Casino officials say it brought in roughly $4.1 million from both slot machines and table games in July. Officials say the casino generated roughly $204 from slot machines, $1 thousand from banking table games and $391 from non-banking table games per day. Rocky Gap's July revenue increased 19.7% from July 2013, according to casino officials. The casino has 577 slot machines and 17 table games.

Overall, officials say July of 2014 casino revenue increased from the previous year by 9.7%.
