30,000 Chickens Killed In Chestertown Fire

 CHESTERTOWN, MD - A Friday afternoon fire inside a chicken house on Bakers Lane in Chestertown killing 30,000 chickens. Over 50 firefighters responded to the scene as the fire took over two hours to bring under control. 

The Maryland State Fire Marshall says the fire started in the rear of the wood-frame chicken house, although a cause has not been determined as of Friday night.
