FELTON, Del. - The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office says a barn fire that happened early Friday morning in Felton was accidental.

The Felton Community Fire Company says it responded to the 1200 block of Sandtown Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, officials say a 40 foot by 60 foot barn was engulfed in flames. Firefighters say it took them about an hour to get the flames under control.

Firefighters from Marydel, Goldsboro, and Frederica also responded to the scene, according to the Felton Community Fire Company.

Officials say Deputy Fire Marshals were called to the scene to investigate. The State Fire Marshal's office says there was faulty electrical wiring inside the building which sparked the blaze.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $25,000, according to officials. No injuries were reported.
