WHALEYVILLE, Md. - A truck driver from Delaware was killed Monday morning when his tractor trailer overturned in Whaleyville, Maryland.
The Worcester County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened on Sheppards Crossing Road in the area of Shavox Church Road just after 10:15 a.m. Monday. The Worcester County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
Investigators say the truck, driven by Michael Smith, 55 of Lewes, was heading eastbound on Sheppards Crossing Road approaching Shavox Road when the vehicle went off the road for an unknown reason, onto the shoulder. Investigators say Smith over corrected, causing the truck to cross the center line and overturn.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is still under investigation.
