HYATTSTOWN, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a tractor-trailer driver from Salisbury that occurred Friday morning in Montgomery County.
Police have identified the driver as 58-year-old James Lee Hobbs.
According to MSP, at around 11:30 am, a trooper with the commercial vehicle enforcement division at the Hyattstown weigh station placed Hobbs’ tractor-trailer out of service for brake violations. A preliminary investigation indicates Hobbs was trying to make the necessary brake adjustments under the truck when it rolled back and over him.
Hobbs died on the scene. Nobody else was injured in the incident, which remains under investigation.
