Firefighter Dies While Responding to Queen Anne Accident

QUEEN ANNE, Md.- The Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company is in mourning, after one of their own passed away during a call.

According to the Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company, Assistant Fire Chief Daniel "Danny" Lister suffered a medical emergency on the scene of an accident involving entrapped patients on 404 and Old Queen Anne Road. Maryland State Police in Easton classified the accident as serious, and reported 404 as shut down for hours.

The Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company says after the medical emergency, resuscitation efforts for Lister were unsuccessful. The fire department says Lister was taken to the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health facility in Easton, where he passed away.

According to the Eastern Shore of Maryland Volunteer Fireman's Association, funeral plans for Lister are in the works and will be announced when complete.
