BALTIMORE, Md. -- Revenue is up at casinos in Maryland after the state's Lottery and Gaming said it saw an increase in December 2018.
According to the agency, revenue during the month of December in 2018 for all six of its casinos totaled $148.4, which was $7.3 million more than in December of 2017. In 2017, the total for December was $141 million.
$61 million of the casino gambling revenue was given to the state, which included about $45 million for the Education Trust Fund.
Five of the six casinos in Maryland experienced an increase in revenue during December, with the only casino seeing a decrease was the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore.
Ocean Downs Casino saw an increase of about 45%. The casino generated $5.4 million in December 2018, an increase of $1.7 million from December 2017.
