SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury Zoo celebrated some big birthdays at its bear enclosure this week.
According to a Facebook post shared by the zoo by the Chesapeake Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers, the zoo's female bear, Chaska, celebrated her 9th birthday on Wednesday, and the zoo's male bear, Pinnochio, celebrated his 6th birthday.
According to the post, the two bears celebrated with their very own birthday cakes, each made out of softened omnivore biscuits, raw egg, baby food and yogurt-covered raisins. They were even complete with carrot candles!
Pinnochio is fairly new to the Salisbury zoo. He was brought over from Ecuador in November 2017 to mate with Chaska.
