Maryland State Police said troopers responded to a crash involving three vehicles just after 9 p.m. Thursday on westbound Rt. 50 at Marquis Avenue in Salisbury. Troopers said their preliminary investigation revealed a 2002 Ford was traveling westbound on Rt. 50 at Marquis Avenue when for an unknown reason, it crossed over into the eastbound lanes of Rt. 50, hitting a 2011 Toyota and 2008 Buick.

As a result of the collision, the two rear seat passengers of the Ford, identified as Stans Antonio Handy Jr., 19, and T’Yana Renee Trader, 20, were ejected from the vehicle. Handy was pronounced deceased at the scene. Trader was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police said that as a result of injuries sustained from the collision, Trader was pronounced deceased on Friday. Next of kin for both Handy and Trader have been notified.

The driver of the Ford, who police said was taken to Baltimore Shock Trauma, was identified as 19-year-old Kiana Heleen Baber of Salisbury.

The driver of the Toyota, as well as the driver and two passengers in the Buick, were all taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, according to police. Their conditions were not known as of Friday morning.
