Buildings Damaged in Laurel, Seaford Areas by Tornado

A farm store was crushed in Monday's tornado.

LAUREL, Del. --- An EF2 tornado that ripped through Sussex County on Monday morning left damaged buildings on both sides of the Route 13 corridor, leaving home and property owners to tend to the damage.

The National Weather Service said the tornado began in the Laurel area and traveled more than six miles into the Seaford area.

Buildings and homes like ones found along Fire Tower Road near Laurel had been damaged with roofing pulled off some homes.

The Laurel Fire Department said at least a dozen buildings had been damaged. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
