DOVER, Del.- Delaware lawmakers could vote to decriminalize simple underage possession or consumption of alcohol.
A bill approved on Thursday by the Senate would make underage drinking a civil offense.
Under the measure, minors under age 21 caught with alcohol or found under the influence would get their driver’s license suspended or face a fine.
Those with driver’s license would lose it for 30 days on the first offense and between 90 and 180 days for subsequent offenses.
