SALISBURY, Md.- It was a public spectacle Wednesday as Accurate Optical's Salisbury location was served an eviction notice by the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

Hundreds of the business' office items like chairs, desks, even copy machines were strewn across their front lawn to bake in the hot sun. According to Accurate Optical officials, it all resulted from a dispute with their landlord, Azar Filipov Real Estate Holdings, which got them kicked out.

The store's closing caught many off guard, like Justice Byrd, a customer.

"I come here about every six months to get my eyes checked out," she said. "I was pretty shocked to see they got their stuff put out."

Other customers assumed the company was remodeling. But others speculate something else, and say it's been very tough to get in touch with the company since their items went on the street and "closed" signs were posted at some of their other facilities.

Wayne Baldwin said he got a call the other day that said his glasses were ready for pick-up, but was unable to do so due to the confusion and traveled to Accurate Optical's Laurel, Del. location to see if he could pick them up there.

"I was told my glasses were ready at the Salisbury office," he said. "I drove down today and there was a sign on the door that said they were closed. It's kind of ridiculous that there's this abrupt change and people were not notified, when your glasses are ready," he said.

The landlord Azar declined to speak with WBOC on Wednesday, but Accurate Optical officials tell WBOC this entire process is apart of a much bigger issue, but they would not elaborate.

Accurate Optical officials say they are hoping to receive a court order to reverse the decision, and they are hoping to move back into the store soon to reopen.
