Parkside High School Assistant Arrested on Child Sex Charges

SALISBURY, Md.- An instructional assistant from Parkside High School in Salisbury has been arrested on multiple child sex charges.

The Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center says Jonathon LeRay Eure, 36, of Salisbury, was arrested Tuesday after the grand jury for Wicomico County indicted him on 10 counts including perverted practice, fourth-degree sex offense, and sex abuse of a minor. 

The center said in a statement that Eure was placed on administrative leave during the investigation of his case. It also said that Eure engaged in multiple instances of sexual contact with a minor victim who was a student at the school. 

The center says Eure will have a bond review in Wicomico County Circuit Court. 

The investigation is ongoing and the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center is asking that anyone with information related to this case, or similar allegations, or additional information, to contact the following:

  • Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5p.m., the DSS Intake & Screening at 410-713-3900.
  • After hours contacts are the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office at 410-548-4891 or, the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165.

Following Eure's arrest, Superintendent of Wicomico County Public Schools Donna Hanlin, released the following statement:

"This morning we were notified by the State’s Attorney’s Office that Jonathan Eure, an instructional assistant at Parkside High School, has been arrested on numerous charges allegedly involving a minor, who was a former student. Eure had previously been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. Wicomico County Public Schools is working in full cooperation with the State’s Attorney’s Office and with law enforcement on this matter.

Our first priority is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff. In accordance with the "See Something, Say Something" message that we promote, we strongly encourage our students, staff, parents and community that if you see or hear of anything suspicious or inappropriate, that you report it immediately.

In addition, any person with information related to this matter is asked to contact the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center or the State’s Attorney’s Office."
