HARRINGTON, Del.- Relatives of a Harrington woman who suffers from dementia and walked away from her home early Wednesday are pleading with the public to look for their loved one.

The family of Donna Miller, 61, is worried about her health because she is also non-verbal. Authorities said she

"I'm scared for my wife," said Melvyn Miller, who is married to Donna Miller.

Since Wednesday morning, relatives, friends, and community members have engaged in a search for Miller.

Law enforcement agencies like the Harrington Police Department, Delaware State Police, and Caroline County Sheriff's Office have also contributed to the effort, even using a helicopter to assist in the search.

Melvyn Miller said he is grateful for the support but is struggling with the lack of clue about his wife's location.

"It's the unknown. I don't know where she's at. I don't know if she's got clothes. I don't know if she's had anything to eat. I don't know if she's had anything to drink. I don't know if she's been harmed and that's the hardest part."

Theresa Miller, the sister-in-law of Donna Miller, has been raising awareness about Donna's disappearance on social media.

Although many cases of children or elderly people wandering from home involve people who are found within a half-mile radius of their origin point, Theresa Miller said she is urging people throughout the Harrington area and its surrounding communities to keep an eye out for Donna.

"At this point, we just don't know where she went. She could have walked anywhere," she said.

The Millers and people assisting with the search have started to place flyers alerting people about Donna's disappearance in communities like Milford and other communities. They acknowledged there is a chance Donna was brought somewhere.

Additionally, the Millers and search organizers have stressed the importance of people checking sheds, yards, and even campers to see if Donna Miller has taken shelter in one of those locations.

Surveillance video that may show Donna Miller is also being sought by her relatives and authorities to help identify where she may have recently been.

The Millers have said if anyone sees Donna Miller to call 911. If anyone has information about her whereabouts, they're asked to call the Harrington Police Department at (302) 398-4493.
