NEWCOMB, Md.- An electrical malfunction is believed to have sparked a Friday morning fire that destroyed an RV and heavily damaged a home in Talbot County.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said it happened shortly after 8 p.m. at a property located at 7277 Woodside Road in Newcomb.
Investigators said an electrical failure inside a 32-foot 2004 Winebago RV ignited a fire that spread to a home next to where the RV was parked.
It took 42 firefighters from the St. Michaels Fire Department nearly 40 minutes to get the blaze under control.
The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage to the RV, with secondary exposure to the home resulting in $40,000 in damage to the structure. An additional $10,000 in damage was done to the home's contents, according to deputy state fire marshals.
There were no reported injuries.
