FELTON, Del.- Delaware State Police say troopers have charged three teenage siblings in connection with a Sunday evening shooting in Felton that left a 19-year-old woman in critical condition.
Police said the shooting happened at around 6 p.m. at a home on the 1300 block of Barney Jenkins Road in Felton.
According to police, a fight was communicated via social media due to an ongoing feud. Approximately 15-25 people responded to the home on Barney Jenkins Road to witness the fight. Troopers said that is when an argument broke out between the 19-year-old victim and another woman, also aged 19.
Police said that multiple fights then occurred when a male wearing a disguise pulled out a gun and discharged multiple rounds. The 19-year-old victim was struck by gunfire and taken to an area hospital where she was admitted in critical condition. There were no other injuries reported as a result of this incident.
Police said the investigation into the incident led to the identification of three teens as suspects: 16-year-old Lawrence Horsey, and 17-year-olds Jada Wyatte and Jaden N. Wyatte. Troopers said Horsey was identified as the male who was wearing a disguise, brandished a firearm and discharged multiple rounds.
All three suspects were taken into custody without incident on Jan. 22, 2020 while at Family Court in Kent County.
Horsey was charged with the following:
- Attempted to commit first-degree murder
- Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by prohibited juvenile
- Wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony
- Riot-intent to Commit Facilitate Commission of Felony or Misdemeanor
- Second-degree conspiracy
Horsey was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center on $82,1000 secured bond.
Jada Wyatte and Jaden Wyatte were each charged with riot-Intent to Commit Facilitate Commission of Felony or Misdemeanor and second-degree conspiracy.
The case continues to remain under investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 3, Major Crimes Unit.
