DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a Dover woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend during a domestic dispute.
Police originally reported that back on Saturday, March 21, a 35-year-old man was walking in the area of South State Street in the area of Lebanon Road. Troopers said the man stated he was leaving Royal Farms when he was approached by an unknown man who stabbed him in the upper torso with an unknown object.
The Dover man was treated at Bayhealth Kent Campus.
Following an investigation, troopers said they determined the victim was involved in a domestic dispute with 41-year-old girlfriend, Safata Johnson of Dover, earlier in the night. Police said that during that dispute, Johnson took a paring knife and stabbed her boyfriend.
Johnson turned herself into police.
She was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She was released on her own recognizance with a no contact order issued with the Dover man.
