Amber Alert: Police Searching for Georgetown Toddler

GEORGETOWN, Del.- Georgetown police, with the assistance of Delaware State Police, are searching for a 2-year-old boy reported as missing.

Georgetown police said Monday night that Cristobal Lopez has been missing since sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. A preliminary investigation determined the toddler was last seen Saturday night on the unit block of South Front Street in Georgetown. He was in the custody of his cousin.

The next morning on Sunday around 5 a.m., the cousin discovered that Cristobal was taken by his mother, 26-year-old Angelina Lopez of Seaford, Del.

According to police, Angelina had made arrangements to stay at her cousin's home for the night to visit with Cristobal, according to police. Angelina has an active court order indicating that Cristobal is to remain in custody of the cousin. Angelina is to have no unlawful contact or unsupervised visits with her son, police said. 

Police said Cristobal is Hispanic and with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blues shoes and a yellow T-shirt.

Angelina is Hispanic, 5-foot-tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt and blue pants. Police say Angelina took a black and light blue car seat from the cousin’s home.

Detectives believe the child may be in imminent danger. There is no vehicle information at this time.

An active felony warrant for breach of release for Angelina is currently being obtained by the Georgetown Police Department with further charges pending.
