Kent County Man Charged With Setting Ex-Girlfriend's Parents' Car on Fire

CECIL COUNTY, Md. A Leipsic man has been charged for allegedly lighting his ex-girlfriend's parents' car on fire.

Maryland Deputy State Fire Marshals say on March 4th around 9:30 p.m. the Singerly Fire Company responded to Robin Hood Drive in Elkton Maryland where a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was found on fire in the driveway. According to authorities, an investigation revealed 21-year-old Garett Riley Dorsey as a suspect, identifying the victims as the parents of Dorsey's ex.

The fire was estimated to cause $10,000 to the car. On Tuesday, the Maryland State Apprehension Team say they made contact with Dorsey who agreed to turn himself in to investigators this morning. Dorsey was charged with Arson 2nd Degree, Malicious Burning 1st Degree, Arson Threat, and Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000.00

Dorsey was transported to Cecil County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.
