A quilt can help keep you warm on a cold day, but it can also tell a story or spark a memory of the person who made it, or gave it to you.
There is an upcoming exhibit in Preston, Md. that will celebrate the craft of quilting, which is still alive and well on Delmarva. Quilt Historian, Kay Butler, and Quilt Enthusiast, Cathy Spence, join us in the DelmarvaLife studio today to talk about “A Stitch In Time.”
Kay began quilting 30 years ago when she made an Amish crib quilt for her newborn daughter. Kay is currently a member of five quilt guilds, an avid quilt collector, and quilt historian.
Cathy has been interested in quilts since she was 8-years-old. Cathy would help her grandmother and great grandmother when they were quilting when she was young. Cathy has a small collection of their quilts and has been adding to the collection over the years.
This year’s exhibit opens Sat., May 13, 2017, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is $5.
