Open since 1997, Cindy Bennett says her husband’s hobby for greenhouses blossomed into something bigger than they imagined.
Cindy’s husband worked as a electrician but always loved planting flowers in his greenhouse. After realizing his passion and wanting to expand it into a business, the couple opened Bennett Farms Market & Garden Center in Hebron, Md.

Bennett Farms Market & Garden Center sells fresh grown produce and flowers. Cindy stresses the importance of fresh produce, saying produce is always better when picked green and then ripened on the way to the store.
“Nothing’s better than produce grown on the Eastern Shore!” Cindy says, with enthusiasm.

Bennett’s fruit selection includes apples, cantaloupes, peaches, strawberries blueberries and watermelons. For vegetables, they sell asparagus, sweet corn, eggplant, zucchini, onions, string beans, squash, tomatoes, potatoes and cucumbers. They also offer canned vegetables, relish and a variety of sauces.
But they didn’t want to stop there. Cindy says people are most surprised at the wide selection of decor they have available in the garden center. They sell yard furniture and indoor and outdoor decor, as well as a variety of country themed items.
“You’re just going to be delighted when you come in and see how large of a selection you have to chose from,” Cindy says.

From mid-March through December, Bennett Farms Market & Garden Center is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
