On Saturday, May 21 the Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce will hold the third annual Bridgeville Beer and Barrel Festival in Bridgeville, Del.

The annual event promises a day of local drinks, great entertainment and delicious food vendors. According to Lynn Brocato, executive director of the Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce, the festival is in its third year, however, this is the second year Seaford is in charge of it.

Brocato said the event came about after a lot of brainstorming. Members from Heritage Shores Club in Bridgeville, Del. were talking about an event to highlight local commerce in the area, namely beer and wine.

“It’s really about promoting our local craft beer companies, wineries, meaderies and cideries. There are a lot of businesses in the local craft beer and wine market and we wanted to try and highlight them to promote tourism and economic development in western Sussex County.”

Throughout the weekend, the Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce works to promote weekend packages with local hotels, golf packages at Heritage Shores Club, tax free shopping and many of the surrounding eateries and markets.

Admission for the festival costs $25 in advance, $30 at door and $10 for designated drivers. The event will be held under a 40 x 80 foot tent—rain or shine! There will be 15-20 craft vendors, food truck vendors, unlimited samples of drinks, a souvenir glass and live entertainment.

Mallory Lankford and Maria Mulrine, The Runner-Ups and Mike Hines & The Look will rock the stage throughout the day. There will also be a cash cornhole tournament and weather permitting, a tethered hot air balloon giving rides from 6-8 p.m.
