Throughout the week, Burley Oak holds several events to get the community involved. On top of Community Night on Mondays and New Cask Night on Thursdays, the brewery holds Bring Your Own Vinyl Night on Tuesday nights.
Bring Your Own Vinyl Night begins at 6 p.m. every Tuesday and encourages the public to bring in their own records. According to Bill Todd, a jack of all trades at Burley Oak, the small business brings out the record player and plays anything from Miles Davis to Metallica.
“We really love music around here and we appreciate it in its highest quality. Vinyl allows that, and it’s a lot warmer and real.”
Throughout the night, Burley rotates through different records. Todd says the event draws a lot of locals patrons, musicians and artists.
“People come in and they’re like, ‘oh man I got all these albums sitting in my closet’ and they’ll dust them off and it’ll be the first time they have heard them in 15 years.”
Todd says the event is all about people coming out, much like many of their events. Todd adds, if there is one thing the brewery loves as much as beer, it’s music.
“Music says a lot about a person, what they drink and listen too… you can look at their music collection and learn a lot about them.”
