Exciting things are happening on Delmarva.
The City Of Salisbury will soon appoint its first Poet Laureate. Salisbury Mayor Jake Day, and English and Language Arts Teacher at Salisbury Middle School, Tara Elliott, join us to explain what that means and how you can get involved. Anyone interested in the title must:
- Reside in Wicomico County
- To apply, you must submit the following to lbaasland@salisbury.md
- Submit a paragraph explaining what you believe qualifies you for the role of Poet Laureate
- Submit a 150-word biography listing past writing successes and achievements
- Submit a packet of 7-10 pages of your poems (in MS Word or PDF format, in a legible font)
The entry deadline is March 20. The city says the winner will be announced during Salisbury’s Poetry Week in April.
